Entertaining but not very informing...

I've been waiting for this 'series' to unravel for a while now and I'm still not very sure what in the world it is about. I know the Khale character is supposed to become some almost evil force but this second installment doesn't really explain anything and you're not even sure what is going on or what the point in this episode is. I found this aspect slightly annoying but it only affected my scoring for this when it ended on the completely inappropriate line 'School Is Bullshit', I mean c'mon, why? I may be missing some underlining message about him calling school 'bullshit' as some foreshadowing of what is to come but over than that, it just seems like a session of Random events that result in a flying tree?
However, the animation is of extremely high quality and the music is certainly refreshing and very appropriate for the spring season ;)

LeafWorthy responds:

Thanks for the 'review'. The line is "this is exactly 2 years before I realize that school is bullshit, that it's not about me, it's about them and what they can get from me". I'm not sure if you went to highschool, but I sure did, and it was a LOT different than middle school for me. Honestly, if you DIDNT have a messed up time in highschool at some point, if you didn't at least question what the authorities were cramming down your throat, then the problem here is not my animation. Thank you for the compliments, but if the statement "school is bullshit" doesn't do it for you, you might not want to watch the rest of the series.

Hmm...

Pretty ridiculous and maybe you're trying a little too hard to bring an 'anime' style into it? The green lady thing reeked Anime and she looked a little stupid.
Anime and Madness don't mix well.

Also, the music was way too fast for the talking moments. There was an awful lot of speech involved and it seemed silly with the extremely fast MIDI/Whatever tracks in the background.

Nice attempt and there is a lot of potential in this.

4/10

Xionico responds:

well most people liked Kary so weee :D

MIDIĀ“s O.o...right XD

Really suprised me...

You did a great job. You really did suprise me so I salute you for that. I thought 'Yeah, just another 'Mario Bloopers' copy' but you proved me wrong. You actually did a lot more and suprised me by actually adding some of 'your own work' and drawing backgrounds and those awesome 'Fulp-Bots'. =) Made my day. Great flash. I'll be adding this flash and yourself to my favourite list.
P.S. I loved the 'Lucky Day' sketch at the end.

UberAoC responds:

Definitely no "Mario Bloopers" recycled knockoff! I'm glad that I was able to surprise you with the randomosity of the scenes.

I did have a bit of custom work in this! A few custom sprites but mostly hand drawn characters, objects, and illustrations. Can't forget those FulpBots- they completely pwn! Very complicated animations on them.

Hey, the last Mario illustration in Lucky Day still gets a chuckle out of me! It's so funny to see that aggravated, serious looking face on Mario! Lol!

I'm honored to be on your favorites list, both in submission and as artist! Thanks man!

Thanks for the excellent review!

Very nice Matt...

Should've put the STOP COMMAND at the end dude. Anyway, very nice and I'm suprised you managed to have that much video in the movie and keep the file size almost near 1.50MB. My webcam sucks so it doesn't do that. Mind you, you didn't use the webcam did you? Anyway, good to see this up on the portal and hope it doesn't get blammed! :P

boner118 responds:

I'll probably cry if my first 2day flash effort gets blammed in 2 minutes. As for the stop script I'm gonna do that now. Thanks.

Dragged on for a little longer than it should...

You kinda made this idea to people that this Mr. Reynold was like some pedophile but turns out he's a druggy who plays an acoustic guitar that sounds like an electric guitar. I didn't actually see the story in this at all. Don't get me wrong, it was good but there was little plot and I hope you develop it in the second episode.

DropTrou responds:

What can I say, pilots are hard to make. The second episode I truly think is A LOT better. Im giving Johnny some friends to hang out with. As for the guitar... that was kind of the joke. A bad one I guess.

It's about trees...

Big fwooping whoop. Needs to have more effort put into it. The drawing could've had a little more effort into them and peoples skin are not white. There was some decent humor but nothing else to actually offer. Sorry, deserves to be blammed.

Ying-yong responds:

Well it got passed, didn't it?

It's just lost it touch...

You ended the series ages ago. It's just like TOADS RAGE (WHICH ROCKS!) but this just sucks. The music was horrible and the drawings were pretty average.

SolidSacketh responds:

THats funny u bring that up. One of my best bro's since like 3rd grade does toad's rage. tell nate dogg u like his movies better!

Very good. But a bit violent than the others...

By only major complaint is that Blockhead is losing his innocence in the series. He seemed just a little kid who likes to annoy people at first and now he feeds people nails and jumps out of cars? I did like this cartoon very much and it's became my favourite series on NG but it's becoming too violent for the type of cartoon that it is.

The-Swain responds:

Blockhead? Violent? The world around him is going to change every now and then (or else he'll just be acting a fool the same way every time), but Blockhead still doesn't know what's going on. I suppose the only way you can tell that he isn't being a jerk for fun but is doing it because he doesn't know any better is to see his face at those moments. Does he seem filled with sadistic pleasure, or does he look...hmm...like a moron, I suppose?

Also, think about the nature of his actions. It's violent when people go around kicking over juice stands and destroying property, I admit. But in Blockhead's case, these things are not his end so much as they are ridiculous solutions to some problem. To me, that's what makes it silly to instead of violent: when is breaking things and selling nails ever actually a solution for anything? That he thinks it is would be my reason for havin' him do it.

Oh, the bus thing is more like The Fool in tarrot cards. Blindly stepping from a cliff, or onto some animal. It seemed too good to pass up.

Looks a lot like the REVOLUTION controller...

I don't like Xbox so I wouldn't actually buy one if this existed. Personally, I can't believe Xbox 360 is actually out though. Instead of actually putting some effort into making the machine they just shoved it on the self before Xmas! Seriously, I'd wait for a REVOLUTION. I'm a bit of a Fan-boy when it comes to Nintendo so NOTHING you can say would make me buy any XBOX OR PS2 related product! Anywho, graphics were a bit crappy and the sound was a bit tacky. It ended a bit suddenly which kinda ruined it. You could've got a higher score...

Basking-Shark responds:

thanks dean dobbs, but you should be abit more open minded about consoles, thier are some great games that are only on x-box, such as halo 2 for example.

That was funny and scary...

This movie is even creepier than Salad Fingers! You must have some really twisted mind to think up something like this. I admire that you actually made it scary. The acid parrt made me laugh alot because of that screaming like a monkey or something. Anyway, cool movie. I can't wait to see the sequel to this!

GoreAddict responds:

a.. monkey? lmao

Hey, I do what I wanna do. Like write this message for example? See? I just did it.
